Hi, I’m Mitch — a travel writer, content creator and published author behind Mitch’s Backpack.

My journey into travel storytelling truly found its purpose in the post-pandemic world. Like many people, I rediscovered the importance of places, memories and meaningful experiences. What started as a passion for exploring local destinations quickly evolved into documenting real-life locations, community stories and the hidden gems that often go unnoticed.

Through my writing, I focus on bringing places to life — particularly British seaside towns, historic routes and locations rich with character. My book series, including Hemsby Paths, captures authentic journeys and connects readers with real-world settings they can visit themselves.

Travel, for me, isn’t just about ticking destinations off a list — it’s about storytelling, atmosphere and preserving moments in time. Whether I’m touring locations featured in my books, visiting readers, or creating new content, my aim is always the same: to inspire people to reconnect with travel in a more personal and meaningful way.
