The 2019 holiday season in Hemsby has commenced at Taylor and Thurston's Woodlands Beach Holiday Park, marking its reopening after closure at the end of the 2000 season. While the partners' previous operation of the park concluded under challenging circumstances, resulting in their departure from the town, subsequent discussions and investigations cleared them of any wrongdoing. Nevertheless, the potential for past issues to resurface remains a consideration.

Following a three-year hiatus and coinciding with the impact of a nationwide pandemic, the 2024 holiday season opening was delayed. This season presents a new set of challenges, a new management company, and a completely new cohort of staff and customers.

The arrival of a new season in Hemsby brings renewed concerns about the ongoing effects of coastal erosion. This presents a further challenge for the new team members, who must now consider the long-term future of the site, its impact on the surrounding area, and the risk of displacement for local residents. A new park manager Claire Clunkey arrives but things are not all they seem.
